NORTHEAST VALLEY - A prestigious British culinary magazine has named Vincent's on Camelback one of the world's top 50 restaurants, and just one of seven U.S. restaurants listed among the winners.
Restaurant, a London-based publication, placed Vincent's 24th on the list of best restaurants chosen by a panel of "international reviewers, restaurateurs and raconteurs."
Owned by chef Vincent Guerithault, the 17-year-old restaurant was listed among such international stars as French Laundry in Napa, Calif., which took the No. 1 spot; Le Louis XV, Alain Ducasse, of Monaco; L'Arpege of Paris; and Gordon Ramsey in London.
Guerithault, who specializes in classic French cooking with Southwestern ingredients, said he was honored to be listed among such establishments.
"Our restaurant is a matter of great pride, and we are delighted to be recognized by international authorities for our hard work," he said. Vincent's, 3930 E. Camelback Road, recently was recognized for one of the best wine lists in the United States by Wine Spectator magazine.
A native of France, Guerithault has received numerous awards and honors, including the first Citation of Excellence from the International Food and Wine Society, the James Beard award as "America's Best Chef: Southwest" and the French Chevalier de L'Ordre du Merite Agricole. |
